OPMA Golf Day
Despite a weather forecast that seemed to promise almost biblical levels of rain, 20 intrepid golfers and me, Mr Wooden Spoon, turned up bright and early at the Birdhills Gof Centre in Berkshire for the annual OPMA Golf Day.
Once bacon sandwiches had been digested and coffees drunk, the first group set out on their way. The course was looking in great shape, although the grey clouds hanging around did not look good.
There were a few spots of rain just as some of us were approaching the turn, but it seemed they couldn't be bothered to develop into anything and the threat was soon gone. Instead the day started to brighten up somewhat and the golf itself, at least on my side, actually seemed to be going quite well.
With the rounds finished everyone had a well-earned drink before sitting down to lunch. Once that was over, newly elected President Brett Warren stood up to announce the prizes. Pictures of the winners can be found below.
It just remains to thank Birdhills for their hospitality, our generous sponsors - Axel Springer, Nikkei BP, Publicitas and Warren International.
